PestConnect: Connected pest monitoring built for your business

Rodent problems don't follow a schedule. They develop quietly, often in the spaces between inspections, and by the time they're discovered, the damage to your facility, your inventory, and your reputation can already be significant. PestConnect is Presto-X's suite of connected rodent monitoring devices, designed to give your business continuous, real-time protection against rodent activity.

Designed specifically for businesses subject to stringent regulations, our innovative solution detects and eliminates pests while minimizing environmental impact.

Smarter rodent control, connected around the clock

PestConnect uses infrared sensors and wireless technology to detect rodent activity the moment it happens. When a device is triggered, an alert goes straight to your local Presto-X team with the exact device, date, and time. That means a faster, more targeted response and a clearer picture of what's happening in your facility between service visits.

Built on integrated pest management (IPM) principles, PestConnect has been shown to resolve rodent activity up to twice as fast as traditional methods.¹ It can also help reduce rodenticide bait usage by as much as 60%.² For businesses in food processing, healthcare, warehousing, and other regulated industries across the Midwest and western United States, that is a real operational advantage.

24/7 peace of mind

Advanced sensors monitor your premises around the clock, providing continuous protection between scheduled visits. Automated alerts help ensure potential rodent activity is identified and addressed quickly.

Proactive pest defense

PestConnect goes beyond detecting individual incidents. Our technicians use real-time activity data and long-term trends to identify emerging risks, intervene earlier, and help prevent minor activity from becoming a wider infestation.

Faster, targeted action

Every alert identifies the specific device involved and when the activity occurred. This gives technicians the information they need to focus their response, investigate the source of the problem, and minimize disruption to your business.

How PestConnect works

Every PestConnect installation starts with a site survey. Your Presto-X technician assesses your facility, identifies risk areas, and develops a customized device placement plan based on your specific layout, pest history, and operational requirements. Once installed, the devices run continuously, feeding activity data into PestNetOnline, our proprietary data management system.

PestNetOnline gives you full visibility into your program. You can access real-time alerts, trend reports, interactive maps, and audit-ready documentation at any time. Your Presto-X team uses this data to continuously refine your program, so protection improves as we learn more about your site.

The system operates on its own independent wireless network. It does not connect to or affect your facility's Wi-Fi, IT systems, or machinery.

The PestConnect device portfolio

Presto-X's PestConnect portfolio includes three connected devices, each designed for a specific application. Together, they cover the full range of rodent pressure scenarios our commercial customers face:

A patented exterior bait station with a smart gate mechanism that restricts bait access to target rodent species only. Built for perimeter protection - particularly valuable for large facilities like food processing plants, warehouses, and manufacturing sites where exterior rodent pressure is high.

A wireless electronic monitoring system for interior use. It captures mice and sends real-time alerts, giving your team immediate visibility inside your facility. Well-suited to food processing and pharmaceutical environments where interior mouse activity poses the greatest compliance risk.

A high-performance connected rat trap with patented interlocking teeth and real-time alerts, delivering rapid response and audit-ready reporting for commercial facilities.

Why connected monitoring matters for Midwest and western US facilities

Presto-X has been delivering commercial pest control to businesses across the Midwest and western United States since 1932. In that time, one thing has remained constant: the biggest risk in any rodent program is the time between service visits.

The Midwest saw a 76% increase in rodent activity in 2024 compared to 2023, according to Rentokil's 2024 State of the Rodent Report. States like Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin recorded some of the sharpest rises nationally. Milder winters, rapid construction, and growing urban populations are all contributing factors, while the industries Presto-X serves most, including food processing, grain handling, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, are among the most vulnerable.

In food processing environments specifically, mice are the primary concern. They can squeeze through openings as small as a quarter of an inch, reproduce rapidly, and leave behind contamination that can trigger facility shutdowns and costly recalls. Traditional scheduled programs simply can't keep pace with that level of risk. PestConnect can.

Closing the gap between service visits

Unlike traditional programs that leave your facility unprotected between inspections, our 24/7 digital monitoring system provides real-time alerts the moment activity occurs. This allows for targeted, rapid response rather than discovering issues weeks later.

By aligning with integrated pest management (IPM) principles, PestConnect not only mitigates compliance risks and contamination but also provides the data-driven insights needed to pinpoint entry points and prevent infestations before they escalate.  It also complements our broader food processing pest control and warehouse pest control programs, giving you a complete, layered defense.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. PestConnect operates on its own independent wireless communications system. It does not connect to or affect your facility's internet, hardware, or machinery.

When a device is triggered, an alert is sent immediately to your local Presto-X team. Response times vary by location and contract, but our goal is always to get to you as quickly as possible, typically within 24 to 72 hours for non-emergency situations.

Yes. PestConnect's targeted approach means treatments are applied only where and when they're needed. This can significantly reduce overall rodenticide use, by as much as 60% compared to traditional programs². Devices like Rat Riddance Connect offer a non-rodenticide option for facilities that require it.

Yes. PestNetOnline captures all activity data with timestamps, making it straightforward to produce documentation for internal and external audits. PestConnect meets the interior rodent device specifications of all major third-party audit standards.

That depends on the size of your facility, your pest history, and the areas that need monitoring. Your Presto X technician will conduct a full site survey and recommend the right number and placement of devices for your specific situation.

¹ Based on a comparison of the total average (in days) of rodent activity duration at customer sites transitioning from widely pre or partially-connected to fully connected pest control. Results may vary.

² Based on the percentage decrease between the average rodenticide bait used at customer sites transitioning from pre or partially-connected to fully connected pest control. Results may vary.
