Fly Control
There are two main groups of flies which Presto-X Pest Control deals with regularly:
- Large Flies (House Flies and Green Bottle Flies)
- Small Flies or Gnats (Vinegar Flies, Moth Flies, Phorid Flies, and Fungus Gnats)
Signs of Activity
- Presence of active or dead flies
- Presence of fly larvae/maggots
- In the case of large flies, fly specs on surfaces
Potential Harm
- Potential for contamination of food products
- Mechanical transfer of bacteria and/or infestation of sterile areas in health care facilities
- Biting flies in some areas

Steps to Take
- Identification of species
- Location and elimination of breeding sites
- Explore non-chemical control methods (screens, air doors, light traps, etc.)
- Application of fly control materials, including baits and liquid applications
- Possible use of parasitic wasp, depending on type of fly and location
